At the end of stage 1 my cpdn disk usage dropped from I think 350MB to 220MB. Same sort of thing at the end of stage 2, at 67.4% cpdn uses 377MB. Trickles are OK, everything looks fine. BOINC 4.19, hadsm3 4.10, Workunit 429010, Result ID 642243.

At the end of each phase there's a fairly intense period of post-processing to convert the phase's output files from their working format to the final format. A 40% reduction sounds about right. The processed files for phase 1 have the extension '.x1.nc'. You'll reach a peak of around 770MB when phase 3 post-processing starts. This will generate the 5 result files that are uploaded (around 7MB in total), but this is only a small subset of the full final results, which should weigh in at 330MB of compressed files. These will be held in the base directory for the model.

It's possible that the project team may want to look at your results in more detail, so it's preferable to back them up before deletion if you need to recover disk space.

You can also use the Advanced Visualisation package to look at your results in a fair degree of depth.
