For more than a week my BOINC program has been just sitting there doing nothing. In my messages the only activity is an hourly note stating: "Deferring communication with project for 1 week, 2 days, 9 hours..."

Under the "Work" tab, it shows that I am 100% done with the project sent to me, and the Climate Prediction project is the only one I have running.

When my screensaver comes up, it states that no projects are running.

If you go to the project tab, right click on climateprediction.net and choose the update option (while connected to internet), what messages are displayed?

Go and merge the 2 computers and try and update, if that does not work shut down BOINC and then restart it, try a reboot of the computer....

Now things are a little different.

Even before I followed your suggestion, it appears that the programfinally tried to make contact. It suddenly shows "Insufficient work; requesting more." Then it shows that it is attempting to send a request to a schedular. Then "Scheduler RPC to http:climateapps......." Then is states "No schedulers respond." Finally, it goes back into a loop of deferring communication with the project. Since I started this check based upon your suggestion, the deferral started at 1 minute. Now it has increased the deferral in steps to 2 minutes, 50 seconds.

I am still getting absolutely nowhere.

Looking at your result, you've sent 27 trickles back so far. If the model has run to completion you shouls have 45 left to return, and they'll be sitting as trickle_up_*.xml files in your projects/climateprediction.net directory. I suspect you might have to follow the advice I gave <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2811">here</a> (because trickles aren't being displayed at the moment it's not possible to be sure that this is actually your problem, but it certainly sounds and looks like it is).

Thanks a bunch. It worked, but it was somewhat more than I expected. There were over 600 trickle_up files backed up. It has now started working on another project.

I guess I will have to monitor that trickle_up situation for a while to see what is going on.

I have no idea how that happened. I have an always-on broadband connection with my firewall configured to allow the project to communicate when it needs to.
