How do I set my CP to run always?

When I start my comp CP starts and says: 'No separate prefs for home, using your defaults' I haven't created Home prefs yet, not able to find which settings make CP run always :( Now I have to switch to always manually. |

Have a look at your <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/prefs.php?subset=global">general preferences</a> amaootta. If <b>Do work while computer is in use?</b> is set to <b>yes</b> and <b>Do work only between the hours of</b> is set to <b>(no restriction)</b> your default preferences will ensure that CPDN will always be running (except when you're running a higher priority application). There's no need to worry about the "No separate prefs" message. All it means is that your computer in set to have "home" as its venue and because you haven't set up home preferences you're falling back to your general ones. There is also an override for each host available through the file menu that says whether to run based on preferences, suspend, or run always.   BOINC WIKI |

There won't be any difference between run always and run based on preferences when you've got your settings that way amaotta. You would only start to see a difference if your preferences specified a time period restriction or disabled computation during user activity.
