I had to stop BOINC while I re-booted my W2K machine after a software install. Prior to exiting BOINC I suspended calculation and then exited. On re-starting BOINC after the re-boot there was no cpdn wu listed in the work tab. No matter what I tried it was lost. This is pretty frustrating after 170hrs and 25% completed. What gives?

Mate,

Sounds like BOINC might not have closed the model down cleanly. It's a BOINC issue not fixed in v4.02+. The backup copy of client_state.xml implemented in this version hide the real bug.

I'm not really surprised of this issue. Every time I quit BOINC_GUI, my hotkey deamon crashes. I never had this kind of problem prior installation of BOINC software. The only way I found to avoid your problem is 1) Suspend processing before closing BOINC_GUI or 2) run BOINC_CLI as a service. I don't know if running BOINC_CLI in 'normal mode' is safe.

I hope BOINC dev-team will fix this bug before public release of the project because I agree with you ... it's fustrating for us (and possibly for CPDN because their will get a lot of uncompleted WU)!
