I connect to the internet using a dial-up connection (unfortunately). Sometimes 1-2 days between when I connect to the internet. Is this going to be a problem?

I'm using win xp, boinc v.4.19.

Got this error recently:
(...)
Deferring communication with project for 44 minutes and 15 seconds
Can't resolve hostname climateprediction.net (valid name, no data record of requested type)
Couldn't read master page for climateprediction.net: error -113
Master file fetch failed
(...)

It is probably advisable to disable BOINC network access while you are offline.

To disable BOINC network access:
In the BOINC GUI file menu:
Check: disable network access
(and uncheck it when you are connected and want to send trickles)
That way, you won't get any communications error messages.

If you have messages like deferring communications for... and you want to send your trickles:
In the projects tab:
Select the project you want
Right-click
Select update
