One of my systems has been failing to upload a result to uploader1 all day, but another result was uploaded to phkup21.unibe.ch without a problem.

I don't know how to tell which uploader I'm attempting, but I've had a result trying to upload since last night.

Search for the string '2pfr_100147555_1_1' in your client_state.xml file. The 'url' entry in the same 'file_info' section is the uploader you're trying to send the result to (and my result's still not been sent).

I've taken a copy of my client_state.xml file and the 6 zip files for the model (the downloaded one and the 5 result files) in case I reach the retry limit. If I do I'm just going to merge the 6 * 'file_info', 1 * 'workunit' and 1 * 'result' sections for the job back into the current client_state.xml file to make sure they eventually get uploaded.

Looks like another 'Bern Uni'.
Both my current models will be going to Bern, the 1st in about 2 weeks.
Where are yours headed, Heffed?

I have a completed workunit stuck in a retry loop. The client_state.xml is pointing to uploader1.atm.ox.ac.uk .

Looks like mine is also trying to get to uploader1.atm.ox.ac.uk. It's been trying for about 24 hours now...

Anyone know of a status page that will show when uploads are working again. If I keep trying I'm going to get to a "Backing off for 18 Years" stage soon :-)

Alternatively, if someone could post here when it's back up then it would be appreciated ...

*Whew...*

Got the same prob.

I recently upgraded to 4.19, & also added SETI Classic (using the CLI/SetiDriver/Setispy combo) to each machine, which is now running concurrently w/CPDN BOINC.

I thought I messed everything up last nite!!!

I feel much better now, knowing the prob is server-end, and, oestensibly, will get resolved in time!

*large sigh of relief*

Just a quick follow-up -

It's 1:00AM here in Chicago, and still no upload. I'll post to this thread if/when I notice the model in question uploads. IMO, it might be a good idea for any of us w/this problem to post when it's resolved, so anyone who may have a "real" non-server related problem will be made aware.

One of my models that is about to finish overnight and is also pointing to cpdn-upload1.comlab.ox.ac.uk/

There is no only lack of moderation, but a limited support - at least a note like "we are aware of the problem and looking into solution". We don't need people to became paranoid from deafing silence, right?
Days after reporting a serious problem and still no answer; anything wrong in Oxford? What have changed since days when prompt answer on bug report was normal?

Too many questions left unanswered....

Only one machine of me has completed a new trickle, but I could upload this to "http://phkup21.unibe.ch/boinc/file_upload_handler" without any problems.

Ciao, Tom

Dumb noob question, but how can I change my uploader to the suisse handler? My current upload handler is the one in question, and I have had too many retries. Running OSX...

thx, dave

Hi Honza!

> We don't need people to became paranoid from deafing silence, right?

Heh - I've seen you mention, several times, of your use of English as a 2nd language.

I wouldn't ever concern yourself with this issue when communicating with us in English.

Your sentence above, is one of the BEST examples of communicating an idea using the English language, that I've seen on this forum! ;-)

Strat

BTW - I suspect there may be a bit more delay, then usual, in fixing the upload problem, and with communication, due to the problem occuring on a Friday going into a weekend. Just my suspicion.

The uploads will be rejected because the signature is wrong.

I really thought the project admins would have fixed this before the weekend... :( They would have to know about it wouldn't they?

Anyone know the retry limit? I am doing the same thing Thyme Lawn is doing in case I hit the limit. I'm currently at 48 retries.

I don't know whether it is allowed to change the handlerurl of the results... but perhaps you may try it and post your results... but be better backing your client_state.xml before proceding...

if it is allowed the destination of your changes should be the following i think:

=======================================
|file_info|
|name|1r0d_400102496_1_5.zip|/name|
|nbytes|0.000000|/nbytes|
|max_nbytes|5000000.000000|/max_nbytes|

|status|0|/status|

|max_nbytes|5000000|/max_nbytes|

.
|/xml_signature|
=========================

but don't change the "signed_xml" areas... i believe to remember that changes to this areas are nonvalid...

Can you be a bit more specific on this, please.
If it is not a public information or you would not like to expose rumours, i would understand that.
Hmm, not posting nor answering makes a lot of space for rumours anyway...

Quite a large number of completed runs uploaded in last 24 hours (261 vs typically about 200). Does this mean that a few have managed to get through?

I sort of figured as much. I hit 43 retries before shutting the thing down to find out a solution. What's the sense of crunching if I can't upload the WU, right? Thx for the info. I'll keep a eye here for any word on server status I guess.
