i get the following whenevber i click update.
I connect to the server beacause my details say i have connected 19 times but i dont seem able to get work.
No message about disk space so i am assuming its ok (tho i have only around 500mb free)
any ideas?

500MB is definitely not enough.
Look in <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=1835">this tread</a> for more info about that.
Although I do not know, why this is not given as the reason by boinc or CPDN.

ive got 5 gig free and cant get work either

Seems to have been a problem at CPDN, that's fixed now. As I'm in the beginning of phase 3, with 1 trickle/day, I had no probs myself ;-)

But 0.5 GB is still to little.

YOU know that you have 5Gig free, and so does your COMPUTER. But does BOINC know?

You have to set some parameters in your general preferences on the 'Your Account' page.

Just below the above ref, there's a bit about disk space. It is now more like 700 Meg, as there was an upgrade
late last year, which provides the scientists with additional info.
This is for a single processor. If you are using a processor with HyperThreading, and have preferences
set to use it, then you need double. Plus about 330 Meg for each completed model's additional files that you
haven't moved out of the BOINC folder. (This makes it simpler to COPY BOINC and all it's subfolders to another
part of your disk before any upgrades, etc.) (To be sure, To be sure!)

These extra (zipped), files can also be 'burnt' onto a cd, if you're short of disk space. And the're safer there,
than just on a hd which may crash. Touch wood. :)
You can put 2 models on 1 cd, so it doesn't take much, as most people aren't going to crunch a large number of
models in the lifetime of the project.
