I've been doing this for a few days now without any problems, but I do have one query.

Why are the messages posted to the application event log instead of going to the log files used by boinc_gui? They are *so* much easier to read from the stdout and stderr files.

With 2 models running on a hyper-threaded P4 I'm getting an average of 10 messages added to the application event log each day, and after just 4 days more than half of its messages are from BOINC!

I think BOINC is going to whittle down the messages that get sent to the event log very soon due to complaints that it's too "verbose"

But it's normal for a service to write its messages to the Event Log. That's how services communicate with you under Windows.
