I'm a bit confused here. Could someone help out ?

How should I proceed to update the BOINC client to 4.19 ? Should I uninstall it first (through control panel ?) or just download it and run .exe ? Should I wait to finish current work first or it won't affedt it ? I'm also participating in SETI and ProteinPredictorATHome projects, will they be affected if I update ?

Please advise,

Nikos

You can just run the installer and install over the old version. Here at CPDN the common advice is to stop the BOINC client, copy the BOINC directory and then run the installer.

CPDN seems to be the most sensitive to updates, I don't recall any errors that could be blamed on updates for any other project. PP@H needs at least CCv4.16 so if you are running something lower than that update as soon as possible. Otherwise if you are more than halfway through the CPDN workunit I would probably wait until it finishes.
