Able to determine error 113 is a gethostbyname() failure. Model seems to be crunching but I'm not sure the trickles are getting home. Using ZoneAlarm pro v.5.5 and have put climateprediction.net in the 'trusted zone.' Please advise.

You have got a trickle now - click on your name.

Seems there was a problem getting input files, but that seems to have sorted itself out.

Thank you, crandles. I've uploaded another trickle since I got your answer. I am still not sure what I should put in the 'trusted zone' in my ZoneAlarm Pro firewall--I don't think climateprediction.com is the site my machine is reaching out to for uploads and/or downloads.

As far as I know the upload server list is still the one posted here by Carl. Specifying a list of allowed servers is okay, but it won't cater for any servers that are added in the future. If possible it's probably better to open up port 80 for the BOINC program you're running.

>Thanks, Thyme. I went to Carl's server list and added them to ZA's 'trusted zone' and RPC's are working fine--requests, trickles, downloads. Opening port 80 would be cleaner, but I wouldn't know how or if I was protecting it.

Port 80 is also used by your browser, so if you're protecting it for this, then you're also protecting it for BOINC.

I don't think you need to put the CPDN servers into Zone Alarm's trusted zone - I don't. This just gives them more access to you than you probably want to give. Just leave them in the internet zone. Also, you don't need to open any specific port - zone alarm handles that for you.

All you need to do is allow BOINC to communicate with the internet (no need to allow server priviledges, although it will ask). You can do this manually, or answer the question Zone Alarm asks the first time Boinc tries to communicate.

Actually, you must already have done this since you have trickled twice already.
