I had ro reload my pc and now can't get attached to the project. It keeps telling me I have an invalid or missing account number. I have tried pasting the url and account from the web site and even typing it in myself with the same results. How can I get attached?

You need to use the URL http://climateprediction.net and the authorisation code you were sent when you signed up. If you deleted that email you should find the code in the file C:/Documents and Settings/eman2a/cookies/eman2a@cpdnboinc[1].txt (assuming that your windows logon name is eman2a). The code is the 32 character string that follows the "auth" label.
