Greetings and welcome to the Board,

If they have credit assigned to them, I think they cannot be deleted.

If they are duplicates of the same machine, with the same OS, they can be merged. Credits are kept and the most-recent machine-ID is used. I think the "merge" option is in "Your Account/View Computers". (I can't verify that because I have no duplicate computers to merge, so the option doesn't appear.)

Mostly correct the one exception is that computers can be deleted after all work assigned to them has been deleted from the server. With the length of CPDN work that could take years though.

It is not the credit. I have two computers with 0 credit but I can't delete them. It may be that if a computer has a job in progress it cannot be deleted.

It's not necessary for it to have even started, let alone be in progress.
Having a wu allocated to a computer is sufficient to prevent it being deleted.
multiple appearances of a computer can be merged, but only to the latest computer ID.

You can not delete because you have WUs listed for both boxes, so until they are removed from the db you are stuck with them....

Models only disappear from a computer's list when they are archived.
This is a difficult exercise, and has only been done a couple of times so far.
It's possible that another archive may be done later this year, as part of the work currently in process to upgrade the entire site.
Until then, you're stuck with the situation as it is.

If you look at your Account page, you'll see that some of yours have been deleted.
