I bought a new iMac G5 last week. I\'ve been using Macs for years but this is the first machine I\'ve had running OS X. I know almost nothing about UNIX but I did manage to get the model running. For the first three days (Oct. 7-9), it seemed to do well. It sent up a trickle approximately every 9 hours. It hasn\'t sent anything since then. I don\'t think I\'ve completed all the work I\'ve downloaded. I don\'t know what the problem is or what I should do next. I\'d appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks, Neil. I still don't understand while the model stopped running (I didn't shut down or restart) but I think I have it running again.

With my current understanding of UNIX, typing commands in Terminal is a little like chanting magic spells. I don't particularly want to be a UNIX guru but I would like to understand what I'm doing and minimize unpleasant surprises. Can anyone point me toward a good guide for beginners?
