If they're going to crash, they'll do so in about 5-8 seconds.

ANZ models run for a bit over 100 hours on my fast Intel machines, so they'll take a fair bit longer on yours.

I have two tasks. Is it one/core?

Trawling though the threads on this.

sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 libstdc++6 libstdc++5 freeglut3 worked for one user with last year's version of Ubuntu.

Unfortunally, Ubuntu change a lot between years... I only use the LTS-versions, 12.04LTS to 14.04LTS...normally I use to wait a year after the realesed LTS, but now they complain about unsupported PPA and stuff, so I have upgraded and make a new install of 14.04LTS. Haven't had any dependency problem like this since RedHat in the former millenium ;)

Install lib32stdc++6 I think it will stop the problem unless there are other dependencies still not satisfied.

All my works AFTER 2 september have this error.

libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have forgett was .so.6 -files are, Is it 'drivers'?

I have installed:

libstdc++5 AND libstdc++6 but are probably 64-bit ?

In debian apt-get repository are also:

lib32stdc++-4.8-dev AND lib32stdc++6-4.8.dev

I have installed sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 libstdc++6 libstdc++5 freeglut3

Can libstdc++5 AND libstdc++6 and also maybee freeglut3 being 64-bit library?

This is your list of tasks here

The files may be under /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/climateprediction.net

However, if you look at one of your failed models, and click the + alongside Stderr, you can see what is missing.

And this is the post that contains info on how to fix things.

Note what I said there about the library that you have missing.

Thanx. I can't find Stderr and the '+' under Error tasks for computer 1337591:(

I find those files in /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/climateprediction.net :

a@Packad:/var/lib/boinc-client/projects/climateprediction.net$ sudo ls
[sudo] password for a:

Now it has gone more than one hour, and a new staus: with computing deferred AND nothing new in tasks. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?hostid=1337591&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5 ? there are still only task listed before I installed 32-bits things.

Could it be that I had SETI@home active, during the time for connection?

Okey. But i removed it, not so hard :) I have started now, and the status is:

Comunicatin defeered and a countdown timer approx. 00:.55:13.

Does it mean that i take about 55 minutes before the data are transferred and computed?

Is there a way to test if my computing application can compute, with the new 32-bit library?

I have installed this packages on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit:

a@Packad:~$ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs libstdc++6 libstdc++5 freeglut3[sudo] password for a:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package ia32-libs is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0

So again, with the alternative packages, like this:
a@Packad:~$ sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 libstdc++6 libstdc++5 freeglut3

PS. The last task listed under are from 7:42.35 today, before I installled the old 32-bits library.

The reason that everything is crashing, is because you don't have the needed 32 bit libraries installed.

See the sticky post right at the top of this Linux section for instructions.

Nothing have crashed: The Status say: Communication deferred.
