How to prevent Client Error?
(Message 39461)
Posted 2 Apr 2010 by old_user60347 Post: I have received this error two time since I have returned to this project. Both times I figured that it was because of power failures in my area. A little history. I live in a town in Oklahoma that if the wind blows hard, it rains alot, snows a few inches, any amount of ice, a bird burps, or a fly passes gas, we have a power lose. Sometime for just a second or other times for hours or days. Most of the time it is an off and right back on thing. This is when I get a client error. Now good old spring weather is coming and I would like to know if there is some way I can set up Boinc and my PC to prevent this error. I know the power failures are coming and I really do not want to lose the progress I am making on my tasks. |

Client Error
(Message 14365)
Posted 14 Jul 2005 by old_user60347 Post: First I ran Windows 98 and now I\'m running Windows XP Pro and no matter what I do, in time I receive the same message. None of the work units I receive go too far without receiving the same client error message. 4.45 - exit code -5 (0xfffffffb) For information purposes I also run Einstein, Seti, and Predictor from the same Boinc program with no problems. What can I do to keep this problem from repeating itself and contribute to this program or am I just wasting the projects time with incomplete work units? |
