BOINC GUI Error - Jochen

Post: hello friends, I tried to start the download of newly edited preferences via the command: C:\Programme\BOINC\boinc_gui.exe -update_prefs http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/login_action.php?key=106e5da4bd03386c712119e1438f42c0 Then I get the error message: "Failed to cleanup the Windows Sockets interface". Now, I am running Windows XP. What can I do to establish my newly edited preferences ? thanks for a quick help jochen |

Post: Hello friends, I had to change the preferences for my workstation. After that I was told to start an update download from my BOINC program. My BOINC versin does not support an user-initiated download in the screoll-down menues. Then, how can I get the newly edited preferences into my BOINC version ? I'm a beiginner to this way of distributed computing. Thanks for help Jochen from Old Germany |

Post: hello friends, I was running climateprediction.net xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I had a stop in my climate-prediction screen saver and when I tried to resume the computation the sreen saver did not stop. I had to shut it down manually. I am not able to start a new task. I dont know either if the first work has correctly finished because I found no message about any transaction of data to the server. I miss the ability of the BOINC program to copy and paste the actual error messages I got. Please put in such a facility in your user interface ! thanks Jochen from Suevia, Germany |
