I have been mulling this over with regard to upgrading my two BOINC-only PCs. The only one that worries me is my old reliable quad-core with 4GB RAM. I've heard practical advice that one should have at least 2GB just for the Win10 OS. I know it's kind of late to be asking this, but could I expect to run 4 CPDN tasks in this configuration? |

Post: My first compute error in a month. Posting in case it's relevant: Workunit 10440044 Error was generated at or near completion. Stderr output includes: "Model crashed: REPLANCA: PP HEADERS ON ANCILLARY FILE DO NOT MATCH" BOINC client included some typical "output file absent" messages. |

So, in case it helps, I'll add that I'm having trouble with an eu_g26l and eu_g29e from batch 379. Both are trying to go to upload2, I believe, and failing with the same "transient HTTP error". |

Post: Something seems to have changed with the upload problem, at least for me, and my pending uploads now stand at 100%. Whereas, I was getting "transient HTTP error" and then "connect() failed" messages, I'm now getting errors similar to this: "...[error] Error reported by file upload server: can't open file /storage/incoming/uploader/hadam3p_pnw_fta4_201312_12_383_010450217_1_7.zip: No such file or directory" |
