1) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : Finished tasks are not uploading (Message 67109)

Hello! i have a huge backlog of files waiting to be uploaded... Other projects don't seem to be having this issue, so i don't think it is on my end (e.g. einstein, world community grid....).

Please let me know if there is specific information you need from me (e.g. log screencaptures). I'm a newbie to this....

This has been reported to the project. See the OIFS discussion thread in numbercrunching

Edit: Tomorrow is the first day since this was reported to the project that is not a public holiday in the UK so i don't expect anything to change before 0900 UCT tomorrow.

Thanks, I have the same problem and therefore will wait as well :-)
2) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : High Disc IO (Message 67041)

Thanks guys,

Next time I get a batch of work units, I will again check memory usage and swapping again. I set the memory usage to 50% when the machine is in use and 90% if not. Maybe the alter was too high because I in deed had most of the problem when logging in.

Let's see. I will report again.

Many thanks

Heinz
3) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : High Disc IO (Message 67024)

Hi,
I am running climateprediction on my Ubuntu Linux Box for many years without any issues.

However since a few months, I see, that model.exe creates such high IO that it locks up the entire box although memory and cpu values are ok. Looking at the tool iotop I can clearly see, that it is model.exe which creates high disk IO. It is confirmed by looking at the led of the disc at the computer itself, which is constantly on.
Pausing climateprediction immediately solves the problem

Linux box got 8 cores an running max 7 climateprediction processes at the time. Diskspace also is plenty available.

Running Einstein oder Rosetta units with similar package sizes do not create such problems.

Does anyone else have such problems?

Thanks

Heinz

6) Message boards : Number crunching : No update of statistics since more than a month (Message 56878)

Post:
Hello,

I am running CPDN since years on linux with virtually no issues. Since about 1 month however the statistics page on the BOINC Manager is not updated although I can see that work units are completed on a regular base and sent back to the server. I can even see many completed work units on my CPDN web page. I cannot see any error message on the BOINC Manager or the CPDN webpage.

Running BOINC Manager v.7.6.31 (x64) on Ubuntu Linux 16.04.

Does anybody know what the reason could be for this problem?

Thanks

Heinz

I do have a problem with the upload as well (running on Linux). Is there a solution available already?
8) Questions and Answers : Getting started : Why is there a daily quota? (Message 35463)

Hi,

Can someone explain me why there is a daily quota? I would expect that my computer (Intel Quad) can get as much work as he can crunch per day....

Thanks a lot

Heinz
