I\'ve had climateprediction running for many months with no problems. Now suddenly a workunit gives above error after trying to upload a trickle..
Mandrake Linux x86_64 10.2. 2.6.18 kernel.
I have many gigabytes of free space on the disk and /home partition. I have Boinc options set to use 1000 gigabytes and 99% of available space.
??? any suggestions ?
thanks
Rod
2) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : 64 bit processor (Message 23553)

BOINC and CPDN work fine on Athlon64s and P4s with EMT64, whether they are running 32 bit Linux or 64 bit Linux. CPDN has not been compiled for 64 bits, so there is really no speed increase due to the 64 bit capability of these processors. They tested a 64 bit version of the CPDN client for the sulphur alpha project, and there was a large speed increase (about 30% faster), but it was not stable and the IT people haven\'t had time to retry it.

Still no 64 bit clients ? We\'re all getting these 64 bit cpus now and they\'re not being used to full advantage.

This project doesn\'t have 64 bit support. You need to run in 32 bit mode.

Can you tell us why not ? Surely just a simple recompile ? This project cries out for 64 bit crunching surely ?
4) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : can\'t restart suspended wu, can\'t run boincmgr (Message 16479)

It\'s a known bug of 4.43: when you suspend, you cannot resume work.
What I do is: choose \"run always\" in Boinc Manager, exit BoincManager, exit Boinc and restart Boinc, restart BoincManager and it\'s working.

Did you try to start Boinc and Boincmanager with command-line ?
First check that there is no other instance of BOINC or Boinc Manager that is already running, then
cd to ~/BOINC and type:
./boinc or
./boincmgr
HTH

Ok, I just saw your first bit about the bug in 4.43.. I have managed to restart it OK with boinc 4.19..
thanks
Rod

That\'s exactly what I did.. except that ./boincmgr must be entered in a different terminal widow, as the boinc log is now writing to the first.

Greetings from Sydney Australia. I needed to reboot my computer (Linux 2.6.13) so I used boincmgr 4.43 to suspend the wu and then suspend CPDN, then I stopped boinc.
On system reboot, I can\'t get boic to resume the CPDN wu.. it says it has no work, must dowenload more work, but in fact just hangs. And boincmgr doesn\'t run either.. the screen doesn\'t appear.
I realise there was no need to actually suspend both the wu and project but that\'s what I did.. how do I unsuspend things if boincmgr won\'t run ?
