12) Questions and Answers : Windows : Separate Upload of Zip-Files possible ? (Message 32825)
Posted 3 Mar 2008 by peterfilla
Post:
WU-ID: 6120113 (.._7729_1920_160_..) has only 8 zip-files prepared in the client_state_xml-file instead of 16 and now I have .._9, .._10 and .._11 waiting.
Is it possible to upload them separate ? If not, I must finish the model ??!!
13) Questions and Answers : Windows : 5.03-WU: 6122022 crashed - why ?! (Message 32012)
Posted 5 Jan 2008 by peterfilla
Post:
I saw the cpu time being reset in the taskmanager - not in boinc ! I think, the program tried to restart 4 times (because there are 4 short trickles) and then exited. Perhaps there are more informations in the 5 uploaded zip-files.
14) Questions and Answers : Windows : 5.03-WU: 6122022 crashed - why ?! (Message 32010)
Posted 5 Jan 2008 by peterfilla
Post:
the WU 6122022 Res-ID 7130438 crashed this night and I don\'t know why !
the second (two 5.03-WU\'s at the same time !) 5.03-WU 6122011 is still running fine. two more WU\'s were/are running on my quad-CPU without problems and enough memory (> 3gig; memtest- and prime95-stable !)
in the night - before the short trickles were generated (about 00:15 instead of 02:40) - I used the taskmanager (no other active programs !) to look at the changing memory-using of the 5.03-WU\'s - I saw, that one 5.03-process resets the CPU-time.
in the message-files I don\'t find any advice.
15) Questions and Answers : Windows : Bug in (?) BOINC or (?) CP ? or my Computer ? (Message 26689)
Posted 10 Feb 2007 by peterfilla
Post:
I am running 4 WU (see text below beginning at 10.02.2007), the 1. task finished O.K. and a waiting WU started -
but then: the other 3 aktive tasks \"exited with zero status . . .\" and restarted - I think without loosing (?) CPU-time.
No separate trickles were generated.

What happened ???

Are you using an AMS (Account Management System) peterfilla?

All you should have to do is:

  • extract the URL fix program to your BOINC directory.
  • stop BOINC.
  • backup the BOINC directory.
  • run the URL fix program.
  • restart BOINC.

QUESTION: before or after upgrading to BOINC 5.4.9 ???

AMS: No (? I am not a computer-freak, so I am not sure)

1. I stopped BOINC and made a backup of the BOINC-folder

2. downloaded the cpdn_fix_xml.zip-file and unzipped it into the BOINC-directory

3. I started the cpdn_fix_xml.exe with double-click

. . .then I checked the xml.files and the folder-names . . and found still www.climateprediction.net . . .

1. I restored from backup . . . the same result: -exit code after computing about 1 - 2 minutes in the post-processing part
2. The same after restarting my PC and restoring from backup.
3. Now I will wait, what the remaining WU 3fqb_200181968_0 (really started phase 2 !) will do . . . . it's running only with 50 % of CPU (???!!!)
