You may have chosen other model types in the climateprediction.net specific preferences?

Yup that was it! Ages back I selected just the longer running ones.

I\'ve enabled other ones now and its happy again.

Thanks!

Hi,

I\'ve been running CPDN on several machines for several years now. Over the last month as tasks finish they aren\'t being refreshed.

One machine is saying the following:
----------------------------------------------
23/09/2009 8:29:16 AM climateprediction.net Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
23/09/2009 8:29:16 AM climateprediction.net Requesting new tasks for CPU
23/09/2009 8:29:21 AM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
23/09/2009 8:29:21 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: (Project has no jobs available)
----------------------------------------------

Another is saying:
----------------------------------------------
24/09/2009 11:50:59 AM climateprediction.net Requesting new tasks
24/09/2009 11:51:04 AM climateprediction.net Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
24/09/2009 11:51:04 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work sent
24/09/2009 11:51:04 AM climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the web site.
----------------------------------------------

I\'m not sure what I would have changed that has broken the downloads. Could you please advise any suggestions?
Thanks

Thanks Guys.

I checked the graphics and its not all blue so no ice world. I\'ll leave it running, I\'m sure it will get there in the end :-)

Good to know the report deadline isn\'t affecting anything.

Thanks for you help, have a great NY\'s,
Cheers,
Herb

Hi, me again.

Some more information - I upgraded the version of the boinc client a couple of weeks back, could that have affected anything?

Also I checked on the tasks that are scheduled for finishing by Nov this year and they appear to be shorter as they will complete in ~270hrs c.f. ~1150hrs for the usual tasks. And are labelled as UKMet Office not like the others which are HadCM3 ones.

Hope that helps,
Herb

Hi,

The machines that I have running climate prediction seem to be giving less credit back than usual recently. When I checked the tasks they are running have report deadlines in some cases of 1901 and other cases of 28 Nov 2007.

These machines are stable overclocks of core processors and they run your work 100% of the time. There is no way they could not complete a task on time.

What could cause this?
Am I getting full credit for the CPU time that is being donated?

Regards,
Herb

I can see the \"slots\" directories under \"program files\\BOINC\" on my other dualcore.

Is it as simple as copying the slot bit from the second old machine into a slot 1 on the dualcore new machine? Or do I just get to transfer one of them and just choose the one thats more advanced and lose the other ?

Thanks,
Herb

Cool thanks for that.

Another question - the new machine will have a dualcore cpu. Is it possible to transfer another pcs workunit on as well so that one can pick up on one core, and one on the other?

Cheers,
Herb

Hi,

I\'m building a new pc and as the current one is going to be decommissioned, I\'d like to transfer the work already done on it to the new one.

Is this possible to do so you don\'t lose the time already spent on this run?

Cheers,
Herb

Hi,

I\'ve just swappde the CPU to be a dual core, reinstalled (repaired) BOINC, rebooted and run the CPU benchmarks (hoping that might force it to spot the extra CPU it can use).

Is there something I am supposed to do to let it use spare cycles on both CPU\'s ?

Cheers,
Herb
