My upload queues are choked with work that can't go anywhere. Hopefully suspending the project will help retain completed work on local machines. There are disk space warnings that make me think some work may end up being lost for good.

I suspect this is just the problem with the credit not showing due to things currently running on the backup server. There are a few of the more obscure pages not being accessible at the moment as well. (Ones used just by project staff and moderators.) Edit: Have you checked your credit under your user account here? I hadn't until you asked. Credit here seems to be okay, although there is nothing showing (yet) for any recent work. If I take the recent negative updated credit amount shown on Free-DC, reverse the sign and add it to my total credit shown on Free-DC, the number matches almost exactly with my total credit shown here. That would suggest that a very old version of the stats was uploaded, though how that could happen I would have no clue.

My reward for returning? Negative 4.2 million! How long a break? I could imagine issues if before the last big multi-week crash but would hesitate to give this to Andy till checking whether things return to normal after next weekend's credit run. I'm honestly not sure. It may have been close to a year? (Message 58186) Posted 12 May 2018 by crashtech Post: I have hundreds of tasks in various stage of completion which were suspended while the project got its act back together. But it's clear that is not going to happen. Now that the latest "fix" has caused CPDN to vanish from the 2018 Formula BOINC Marathon, showing negative 4 billion points for the year, I am, with a mix of regret and disaffection, going to abort many hundreds of hours of ongoing CPU work done for this project. I'm sure some will find my attitude appalling; it's fine if you want to judge my commitment to climate science and find it lacking. But do consider that there was an implicit agreement when CPDN set up a points system for those who like to play that way, and it's not me that broke that agreement.

There's an additional reason why credits are important to me, and that's because I'm on a team. Therefore there is a sense of duty to my teammates to do my best in the various projects in which we participate, of which Climate Prediction is one. A very worthy one, I might add, so it's with great ambivalence that I have had to cut down greatly on the amount of work I'm doing for the project, yet not cutting it off completely. I do hope this problem eventually gets addressed, it's my wish to divert more resources to this project on a permanent basis.

Since I'm juggling 26 different BOINC projects on 11 different machines, the stats generated by the points system are a valuable tool. I'm going to be ramping down my contribution to Climate Prediction for a while, until this issue is resolved.
