How's the situation today?
Is the problem solved or is it still almost useless to crunch?

The problems with the earlier batches from 4-6 months ago have been mostly resolved. The occasional Wu still has an issue, but 90% of my tasks are completing successfully now. Your mileage may vary, of course.

There is an issue with the current batch (1008/9) that means they are failing but only on Intel machines. So far they seem to behave on AMD ones. Glenn is doing some serious debugging work to track down the source of the problem. With luck the two remaining batches and a fixed 1008 with a new number might go out next week. Follow the thread for batch 1008 for news on this.

If you are constantly restarting tasks, CPDN is probably still not for you. The WUs are a good bit better behaved than they've been in the past, but given the amount of work done per WU (a CPU-week if you've got a fast CPU, more if you don't), it's not a good task for machines that are regularly interrupted. They're very much a "Start them and let them run without interruption to completion" sort of task, though they are getting better.

I have a Win Intel 64 EAS 25 which appears to be from batch 1011 coming up on 5% and running fine at this time.
