Hi all

Anyone care to offer a possible explanation of the above CPDN message, as displayed in the BOINC Manager Error Log?

This hasn't stopped me getting any work from any other BOINC project that this specific (Windows) PC is attached to - so, I'm guessing that CPDN admins are doing something in the background to "verify" accounts (in order to prevent zombie computers from wasting their time).

Either way, any suggestions would be helpful - plus a way of fixing it.
regards,
Tim

Perhaps you have a cc_config file that fiddles with the computer settings.

But it doesn't matter much, as the researchers here lately seem to favour modelling programs which are only available for Linux.
There's been little Windows work for months, and when a few thousand have shown up, they all went in less than an hour because of the thousands of computers waiting for them.

Judging by your high credit number, you must have other computers which ARE getting work here, so It may be easiest to just use that computer for other projects.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

cc_config has nothing in it to cause any issues.

Indeed.

I'm not sure what you mean? By "high credit number" do you mean just on CPDN (where my total credit is just 111,850 - though I've been a member of this project for many years - I just never had enough CPUs or patience to wait for the CPDN tasks to be crunched in a timely fashion).

Otherwise, if you mean my "Total" credits - that's because I've been crunching (via BOINC) since the early 2000s and have contributed to many, many projects. :-)

Tim

Not so much your total credit but Recent average credit 1,194.93

My own recent average credit is only 24.69 though that is partly because my marginally faster computer has been chugging through some testing branch tasks for a while now.
