If I look at the characteristic of my computer here at CPDN, it reports, among other things
Average upload rate 762.56 KB/sec
Average download rate 15823.88 KB/sec

Now, according to my ISP, my upload and download speeds are guaranteed to be at least 75 Megabits per second, though I have seen them as high as 85 Megabits per second.
Also, my Network Interface card can go up to a Gigabit/second, but my router cannot.
So how do they get 15823 KBytes/second download speed, which comes to 126 Megabits per second? Is something working remarkably well, or am I misunderstanding something?

I have noticed the initial high speed and I assume it is filling up a cache in the router?

As far as I know, my router has no cache..

It seems to me that these speeds are either the average speeds since this machine joined the project (1 Dec 2012, 10:10:08 UTC), or the most recent speed it has experienced. I.e., speeds not measured at my end, but the speed measured at the CPDN or Boinc server end. I assumed these speeds to be mainly the speeds that work units were downloaded to me, or the results uploaded to me; i.e., pretty big blocks

not sure. Looking at my own computers the reported speeds are only marginally faster than when I do a speed test during the day. Probably because I have internet access set to an hour about three in the morning.
