It still shows as pending, but it is gone from my machine, and there's no way to "abandon" it manually as far as I can tell. Provided there's no backup of the result (which would be preferable), is there some server-side way to mark it to be restarted so it doesn't sit waiting until 2018 for a result that will never come?

Almost certainly the upload was successful and it is the changing of the description on the website that is the problem.

When you next have no work on the machine, detaching then reattaching to the project may sort things out.

I'll give it a try. I currently have 1-2 more days of work and will see what happens when I reconnect then. Thanks!
