Two weeks ago I received a notice that I need to delete the climate prediction project because it was using an outdated URL then add the project again with a new provided URL. I did that and it is showing zero credits and the communication has been deferred indefinitely. Not sure why?

This was an error. You didn't need to do anything but like me you did. Just managed to re-attach to project as it wouldn't accept my password. My credits have returned but no work.
Have you used the same account info when attaching to project again? If the same you should get your credit back in next few days.

That notice was an unfortunate side effect of the recent server problem and the need to run the project for almost 2 weeks on a backup server. Boinc noticed the difference and sent the notice to detach-reattach so as to connect the “new” (i.e. backup) server. Now that we are back on main project server it will be necessary to do the detach-reattach thing again to get back to right IP address. 

Hello to all,

walked into the same trap a couple of days ago. Now, I am wondering wether the "real" server is actually running or not. Attaching to the backup server works fine but receiving the message
"03.05.2017 19:53:11 | cpdnboinc | [error] No scheduler URLs found in master file".
Trying to detach and reattach to main server failed continuously every time I try and give me the message
"03.05.2017 20:02:43 | | Fetching configuration file from http://climateprediction.net/get_project_config.php
03.05.2017 20:03:08 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
03.05.2017 20:03:12 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down."
Can somebody explain whats going wrong, please?
Are the servers down again?
Or do I have to reattach at a special time of the day?
Questions! Questions! Quetions!... ...no answers.... ;-)

Thanks

Are the servers down again?

You need to detach and re-attach again using the old url which is the default when you select climate prediction.net.

Successfully attached here and have the following from event log.

Wed 03 May 2017 19:40:15 BST | climateprediction.net | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
Wed 03 May 2017 19:40:15 BST | climateprediction.net | Requesting new tasks for CPU
Wed 03 May 2017 19:40:16 BST | climateprediction.net | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Wed 03 May 2017 19:40:16 BST | climateprediction.net | Project has no tasks available

However on a re-tread that has failed on one machine already, I am getting an internet access OK project servers may be down message on my laptop with the following task.
https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=20380156 So it looks as if something is still down.

Hmmm....
Ok, thanks for the answer. Still no connection to servers and so still not able to reattach. I will wait for a few days more and try to reattach from time to time. But if there will be no change in this behaviour I will think about giving up this project. Such annoying problems with climateprediction happens repeatedly to me...
Otherwise I would really like support such a project gaining more knowledge about climate

I had the same issue I had detached and reattached during the outage. Once the primary system came back up I was sill unable to connect correctly. I did another detach and reattach today and instantly connected correctly. no work available but my stat's and preferences were as before.
