We don't have details except that the script ran a lot longer than expected. I'm confident that Andy put things back online ASAP.

I was hoping we'd get the updated message board functions with the upgrade but it doesn't seem to be here. Are there any plans to bring the message boards up to date?

Not strictly on topic but related. Since the upgrade to the web pages on the task page work units displayed by number are in most recent at the top but when displayed by name they are ordered oldest at the top. I guess this is a glitch that will be fixed.

Certainly not a priority but could adding the platforms tasks in the hopper will run on be added?

"The builders have finished, but the painters and decorators are still at work."

On the To Do list:

Finish the Server Status page.
Look into the data for the external stats sites.
Look into the new Credit column in the new Tasks list, and fix the data.
Others.

I don't know what has happened with the tasks list since the upgrade but the work unit order appears to be totally random. Is it supposed to be in task number order, work unit order or date sent order?

Yes, the email was long and complicated, with examples.

Also new is that for each task the error file is automatically listed before the trickles list whereas there was the option to expand or collapse it before. As this file can be long would it be an option to put it after the trickle list?

Hi Allan

That was one of the earliest things I asked about, but for the error list to be closed / open the way it was.

The contents of the Status column on Task lists has been changed to more accurately reflect the actual state/condition of individual tasks.

This model crashed, but its stderr out is not visible on the task's page. Not sure whether this is related to the upgrade or not, but we previously read here about stderr out. So here it is.

"Look into the data for the external stats sites."

Would cpdn manage to use script to update this daily? And was this done manually?
https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/stats/

In order to make a reward for users to Gridcoin it would need to be updated frequently and there are now 4 days until it get voted out.

So please some info would be great to users in order to stop/change votes.

The scripts normally start running on Saturday morning UK time, and the data should be available sometime Sunday.

Daily is no longer possible because of the huge amount of data to get through.
Also, the data resides across several servers, which are connected by the university network. And the weekend is usually quieter.

There is a discussion of stats export in the stats exsport thread, which indicates that stats export has been reinstated after the Web site upgrade. Updating that daily would currently serve no purpose as the numbers are calculated weekly. While many volunteers will happily acknowledge the usefulness of credits generated by projects, it is hard, in the real world, to understand why it would matter that these credits arrive immediately. Because of the nature of the subject being investigated, the CPDN project has typically had rather large and rather long models, which has led to a different method of allocating credits - and that difference is intended specifically to reward users whose models might fail before completion; this method is computationally onerous and has ultimately resulted in the weekly updates.
