If as suggested a script has fallen over and needs restarting, it is two hours before the programmers start at Oxford and probably longer as there will be work which directly contributes to the science to be completed first.

yes i got many ANZs as well, perfect!

now if only the credits could appear... my total remains that of march 16th, and several tasks have completed in the interim.

my total remains that of march 16th,

And 17th for me. In several years of crunching for cpdn the credits have always appeared eventually so I am happy to wait. Great to see more models appearing though and I am enjoying the feedback on the eu models.

My last credit was on the 25th Feb! A record for me.

I too applaud the feedback provided. Well done Hannah, a welcome first that is not only very interesting but also very rewarding to the many who have provided support to projects over the years. I hope that it will not be the last.

The credits system is still broken and still isn't being worked on.

The new models, and others still being tested, are the priority.

Consider this project to be a credit free zone for now and some time into the future.

I don't crunch continuously for any project. I participate in 52 projects, and crunch a few weeks for each, according to my preferences. Last time I was crunching for Climate Prediction, I experienced the same problem, but the credits came, so all we have to do is wait, they will appear eventually.

Makes sense.
Do you think that the credit will at some stage be accounted for? As I'm setting up additional machines, credit is the only way to ensure that crunching is going properly (or is there something else i should look at?

There isn't anything else, other than looking at the page for each model to see whether any trickles have been reported, which can be rather laborious on multi-processor machines with no credits showing. Credits are often treated as unimportant and, in my view, their use as a progress indicator somewhat underestimated. As other contributors have commented, the credits will appear at some point.

CPDN does not calculate the credits incremental like other projects. Instead, they always calculate all models and trickles you ever returned to the project.

That's why I'm optimistic that nothing will be lost once they get the time for fixing and/or reinstalling the scripts that add up the credits.

I just signed up and completed one unit(hadam3p_eu_a8ed_2013_1_008571923) but got no trickles or overall credit. I see that this is an issue but I would like to know if the crunch was successful, is this possible? Or do I just allow a new task & hope for the best?

Hello Ian

Welcome to the project.
The trickle_up files are tiny, and don't go through the Transfer tab.

This is the page for the model that you've just finished. It says:
Over
Success
Done

so it has completed successfully.

This is the trickle page for that model. The last trickle is at Timestep 138,336 which is what that page indicates, so everything is OK there too.

Hmmm. Fairly new to this climate prediction work. I am getting no credit recorded. See ing this thread is reassuring that this is expected but it was a bit unsettling when I was trying to find some information. (Will post about forum issues after this ...). Kept coming across "unwanted" work units that you should cancel and so forth.

Anyway. Just to add my voice to saying that it would be nice if it was fixed so I get some feedback my electricity is doing something and not nothing.

Thanks.

JS, I've just replied to your credit query in your thread in the Getting Started section.

In your CPDN account you can look at your computer and your models to check on the trickle progress of each task. The trickles show your computer's in contact with the server.

No longer a credit free zone. My credits are now up to date. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply mo.v. I did get the idea you might be able to look up your trickle credits through reading this thread. I will have a look.
