Hello,

Do you know if there are any plans to make CPDN projects available via the BOINC for Android app? I only have a rudimentary knowledge of how such things work, but if it were available on the app, I would use it. I currently use BOINC on my laptop and process CPDN projects there. It would be nice to have both of my carbon intensive computing devices doing some climate data crunching in order to justify their carbon footprints a bit. :)

Thanks,

Treesong

Short answer:
No.

Long answer:
The models are desktop versions of the supercomputer programs used by the UK Met Off. They're getting close to a million lines of source code, and the latest model under test may exceed that.

Trying to get useful results in a reasonable time on something as slow as android devices just isn't worth the effort. As it is, there's around 20,000 desktop/laptop machines after work, and usually only 10,000 to 15,000 work units are released at a time.

Ah, okay, thanks for explaining. I'll just continue doing it on my laptop then. I'm just happy to help!
