Should be OK, it doesn't have the very long deadline and isn't marked, "no resubmission." Get crunching! |

If this is your first CPDN project just remember to ALWAYS suspend the model and exit the Boinc manager before shutting down your computer. And if possible dont stop the model when it is within about 1% of the 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% points. This is when the models are creating the decadal zip files and are very touchy. If interrupted they tend to crash. GOOD LUCK. |

Yup, it's my first project here so your advice is really appreciated. I think I've read somewhere about the decadal steps but it can't harm to be reminded of potential pitfalls. If I run into any problem, I'll pipe up again. |

Wanted to report that my task finally completed during the day and I am tickled that I decided to be patient with it and not just abort it - it was 1320 hours running time for full completion and well over a month past deadline. Wow... |

Way to go Barb! Congratulations and thanks for 'hanging-in.' (Deadline has no real meaning in CPDN, it's merely a required parameter for boinc template. At best, if short, it suggests that staff is impatient for results, usually because a follow-on task depends on its output as input. [We used to run all 160 years as single HadCM3 tasks but they've since been broken into four parts -- with consequent larger amounts of of data transfer.]) "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |
