Hi,

is it possible to get a "reset my password"-mail, if I only know my user-id?

Go to this link and you should be able to reset things.

Thanks for the reply. My problem is, that I don't know my e-mail address anymore, only the user-id.

Your full account key should allow you to access your account and change email and password unless I have misunderstood things. If I am wrong you may have to wait for one of the admins to pick this up.

You should be able to log in using the second option on that page.

Go to your BOINC data directory; depending on the version of BOINC you're running you it's shown near the top of BOINC Manager's event log (version >= 6.11) or advanced view messages tab (version < 6.11). Open the file account_climateprediction.net.xml and log in using the 32 character value between the <authenticator> and </authenticator> tags.

So, if I don't know both the e-mail address and the account key my account is lost, right?

If you click on "Your account" in the blue bar on the left, you will be able to see your email address.

Yes, if you don't know one of them you can't continue using the old account. If you only know the e-mail address you must also still be able to receive emails sent to it.

The original question was about changing the password.
The next problem was about not knowing the email address.

However Azog, you're still logged in here with the original info, otherwise you wouldn't be able to post here.

As Greg said, click on Your account in the blue menu to the left of here.
Your current email address is written there.

Write it down.
Then change your email to the one that you're now using. And write it down.
Once you you've done that, wait a while to make sure that the change has taken effect, (10 minutes, perhaps), and then reset your password. This will be sent to the email address that you've just changed to. Write that down as well.

PS
BOINCstats shows a user Azog from Germany, who joined cpdn in October 2004.
If that's you, and your real question is about merging accounts, then that's not possible.
Neither is getting access to your old account without the email address, which is what's used to identify users on BOINC projects.

Thanks for all your help.

To clarify everything, sorry if it was not clear enough: I don't know both the e-mail address and the account key, as I told before. But it could be possible, that I can receive an e-mail to the registered address. Therefore getting a "change my passwort"-mail would be enough to get back access to the account. This at least was my idea and I made a new account to post this thread.
Unfortunately this seems not possible. So I say goodbye to my old account.
