I have been unsuccessful in the final uploading of two wu's: 3/10/2011 8:07:34 PM climateprediction.net Temporarily failed upload of hadam3p_eu_xstm_1969_1_007023362_0_13.zip: connect() failed 3/10/2011 8:07:47 PM climateprediction.net Temporarily failed upload of hadam3p_eu_xstl_1968_1_007023361_0_13.zip: connect() failed messages also indicate recurring transient upload error and that the server appears to be unreachable. From other info gleaned from the message board I tend to think the two wu's are trying to reach upload1, the server that keeps shutting down. I believe these two wu's were successfully completed by the end of January, exact date unknown to me. My understanding is that an uploading wu will automatically "error out" after attempting unsuccessful contact for 90 days. To my knowledge, all trickle-up transmissions were received and acknowledged. That being the case, will I just lose partial credit for the final upload? Thanks for your help, bill brandt-gasuen |

Credit is issued based on trickles, not zips. So, if all of the trickles were sent successfully, then you'll have all of the credit that's available for that model. And credit is NOT deducted for any reason, including missing final zips. As noted in the News and announcements thread at the top of Number crunching, the project people are working on moving data off climateapps1.oucs, but it's a slow process. Back in 2009, I posted a set of steps to follow to extend the time limit. This is near the top of Number crunching, and still applies if needed. Backups: Here |

If you have a fairly recent version of Boinc you don't need to extend the upload time limit. It's been 90 days for quite a while. But if you have an old Boinc version and #13 files stuck in Transfers it would be a good idea to upgrade your Boinc now. The upgrade would extend your upload time limit. Cpdn news |

Thanks Les, I am using boinc 6.10.58 so I think I'm safe there. Of the two wu's I mentioned, hadam3p_eu_xstm_1969_1_007023362_0_13 departed the queue sometime this morning, so things are looking up. As for not losing credit, that's good to know and I will remember not to be concerned if it happens again when reaching 100%. Trying to keep the planet happy, bill brandt-gasuen |

Managed to upload 2 .13 zip files yesterday 11th March but still have 6 waiting to upload - soon to be 7. Sever is supposed to be working & have restarted BOINC but retry button uploads 30kbits then stops. Is it only me or do others have problem. Is server swamped? |

A friend and I both encountered messages announcing: no more disk space available on server. Status page continues to show the server as being up ... "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

Im having the same problem getting "disk full" on each attempt to upload. I have 18 units trying to upload, one more will complete tomorrow and 2 more on Mon/Tue. I have swiched CP to "no more work", think Ill just leave it there for a month, hopefully things will be sorted by then. Ive nothing but problems uploading work since Xmas, nothing to do with my PCs or network, just end up with the transfer box full to brimming. I do understand you guys have problems with the servers now and again but I just dont know if I should let it run or not I have had over 100 units trying to upload at one stage (not all at once) in the transfer box. Think Ill just let these units upload in there own sweet time and have a break from Climate Pred for a month, one less headache. Annoyed but not p""""""d, sculptor |

There have been numerous problems since Christmas, which have been posted about in the News and Announcements thread at the top of this section of the board. And I've just made another post there about it. Patience is the only cure, I'm afraid. Backups: Here |

I know you havent fixed the server just for me, but would like to say thank you, my transfer box is now empty. I am reconfiguring my systems after Intels P67 Chipset cock-up and should have everything back up and running before the end of next week, will it be OK to switch Climate Pred back on? I went through my period of gunning for points and glory with F@H years ago, nowadays the projects I run are to help where I can, and I run the projects that are actually having success with distributed computing, such as you guys. sculptor:) |

I have not been able to upload anything for ages. My transfers are piling up. Does anyone know when this will be fixed? Here are some of the messages: 30/03/2011 2:42:18 p.m. climateprediction.net Temporarily failed upload of hadam3p_pnw_2wbt_1969_1_007175393_1_13.zip: HTTP error 30/03/2011 2:42:18 p.m. climateprediction.net Backing off 1 hr 14 min 36 sec on upload of hadam3p_pnw_2wbt_1969_1_007175393_1_13.zip 30/03/2011 2:42:19 p.m. Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. 30/03/2011 2:42:19 p.m. climateprediction.net Temporarily failed upload of hadam3p_pnw_31xi_1959_1_007182654_0_13.zip: HTTP error 30/03/2011 2:42:19 p.m. climateprediction.net Backing off 2 hr 13 min 7 sec on upload of hadam3p_pnw_31xi_1959_1_007182654_0_13.zip |

The server problem was fixed a couple of weeks ago. As you're still having problems, perhaps what's in this thread about the mis-spelling of the file name may help. I think that this only applies to Linux systems. Else check the post by Thyme Lawn on our other (php), board as linked in the above mentioned post. This is about a BOINC problem, which is only evident when a large number of large files for multiple projects is queued. If you don't already have a cc_config.xml that you can add to, then you'll have to create one. Backups: Here |
