If I could have one thing added to the Boinc Manager it would be the ability to control the number of each type of WU downloaded. I prefer to run a mixture of model types. I recently received 2 CM models to my dual core machine. What I really wanted is only 1. Since I calculate that they will take ~ 62 day each to complete this one type of model is going to monopolize that computer till sometime in late January. :(

This is unlikely to get added to BOINC, because it's already present in Homo Sapiens V3.2

When a computer is getting close to the 'download-more-work' range, as specified in the 2 options:

BOINC will try to maintain at least this much work.

one may need to make manual adjustments.

If more than one model is going to finish at about the same time, Suspend one of the models so the other can get ahead.
Restart the Suspended model when there's a big enough gap for a single download.

If the computer is already in the 'download-more-work' range, this too can be allowed for, but it requires the user to be running Homo Sapiens V4.1 to be able to cope.

1) Is more than one work unit going to finish?
If so, do you want different model types for each-soon-to-be-available processor?

If no:
Don't worry about it.

If yes:

Change % of the processors to the number of work units of the same type needed.
Also select the model type for the 1st download.

A) Update the project in the Projects tab.
Wait until benchmarks have been run.
Enable Network activity.

Wait for new model to download.
B) Disable Network activity.

Set % to next number of processors.
Also select the model type for the next download.

Go back to A)
Repeat all steps up and including B).

PS
This request has been posted several times on the BOINC/dev board, and been rejected.
