I am planning some extensive home remodeling in the near future and may be forced to be offline for up to 3mos. I had thought to download some of the longer running work units and allow them to crunch during this time. As they will not be able to trickle, will this cause any reporting problems upon the resumption of internet service? Disk space will not be a problem. Using v6.10.43. Thanks in advance.

There should be no problems. There is a very long deadline, which is pretty much ignored by CPDN anyway - so just ignore it.

In theory, BOINC can re-issue tasks in work units where progress isn\'t being made. But I\'ve never seen any evidence that CPDN works that way in practice: the CPDN scheduler just doles out the models as work is requested - and the project accepts anything that\'s sent back.

(The only time-related problem CPDN participants encounter is if a phase-end Zip file starts uploading and for some reason it can\'t finish. Even that unusual situation is now much improved as the timeout has been increased substantially beyond the length of any likely server outage.)

I hope the work on your home goes well.

Wish I had known...was forced offline last summer/autumn for an extended period and aborted a completed work unit out of ignorance. (not sure if it was a phase or an entire run. Threw away a lot of credits! Thanks for the best wishes on my renovations. Although I do this for a living, I\'m gonna need it.

One member who works on a submarine loaded as much CPDN work as he could for a long period on the seabed.

Hope that the remodeling goes well, that can be a big job. I just finished a new bathroom and almost completed the kitchen. Totally new in both. We have a small two family where we are using the whole house so we have another kitchen and bath to use during the work. Some friends who are carpenters who were out of work did a lot to help so it went a lot faster than planned. Here is a LINK to how the work is progressing on the house.

When the bath was completed we let the wife know, she let us know that we forgot to get the new medican cabnet out of the basement to install. That is also in now. How could we forget to do something like that.
