I registered with the CPDN project about two weeks ago and have failed the maximum allowed two WU's every day since.

I have an Athlon XP 3600+ so have deselected the HADAM3P to prevent problems as that is all I seemed to ever get at first expecting that to resolve the errors, but to no avail.

I also upgraded the BOINC client from 6.6.20 to 6.6.31 to see if it would make a difference.

I'm running SET@home and Cosmology@home projects with no problems.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

oh, forgot to mention I have also reset the project on a couple of occasions and have just tried detaching and reattaching the project today but will need to wait until midnight to see if it's had an effect.

There were some suggestions for troubleshooting that error here. Not sure if it's any help to you.

Your processor X2 3600+ is not an AthlonXP, so should not have the problems with hadam3p. The problems with all model types are due to some other issue.

Thanks, I'd read that post (and another similar one on the other forum), so checked the permissions and all seems OK, there were some strange read-only markers on the folders, but that applied across them all including the ones used by SETI and Cosmology, and ultimately all folders were in fact read/write. I also thought the upgrade would have done the job, but I could try a total uninstall then re-install BOINC, I'll let you know how it goes.

Still no joy! I've tried re-installing BOINC altogether, including recreating the folder structure under All Users, I've changed from simple to 'normal' file sharing so I can get into the NTFS permissions, and I have opened them up as much as I can, I've updated my antivirus software (not just a signature file update but a new version of the software) and added exclusions for all BOINC folders.

I can see the process starts in task manager, and I see all the files get created in the appropriate slot folder but it always fails with the same error.

Any more ideas before I re-install Windows?
