I have upgraded my BOINC core client from 5.10.45 to 6.6.31 (but the manager says 6.6.29) and my graphics window crashes with a segmentation error. I am running a hadam3p model after completing both a hadcm3ivolc and a hadam3p model) with no graphics because I used 5.10.45 BOINC. Einstein graphics are still working after the upgrade, QMC are not. I post it just for the record, I am nor using screensavers. Tullio |

Hi Tullio, Do other 3d applications work on your system (3d chess or GoogleEarth)? If not does "lshw -C video" show a video driver in use (not unclaimed)? What do "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log|grep DRI" and "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log|grep rend" show? (The last commands are from an Ubuntu system, so your filename may differ.) |

My SUN WS has no graphic board but a graphic chip Radeon ES1000 515E with no 3D support. Einstein@home graphics work both in the hierarchical search and the Arecibo Binary Pulsar search. CPDN Beta graphics work also. QMC graphics (not ORCA) used to work with BOINC 5.10.45 but do not work since I updated to 6.6.31 (running as 6.6.29). I compiled the ACM Flight Combat Simulator and it works, although it is far inferior to Microsoft Flight Simulator. But graphics are not my main problem. Cheers. Tullio |
