I have CP running on boinc on a XP home 32bit SP3 pc and I have a task that is 46% done about 590 hours in.

I need to take this pc down for some work and would like to move the task over to a Win 7 64bit pc that I just added CP and boinc on.

Can I just copy and paste the task over to the new pc?
If so what file(s) do I need to move?

Thanks,
David

I found the information in the readme section after I posted my question.
So I\'m ready to try the transfer. I all ready have CP running on the new pc.
How do I merge the files from the old pc without wiping out any WU\'s?

Thanks,
David

You can\'t merge them.
You have to either let one lot finish, and then copy the other lot to the same place, or backup the entire BOINC (data) folder, AFTER completely stopping BOINC, and then copy the other lot to that position. Then, once these have all finished, restore the backup and complete that lot.

Set all projects to No new tasks before doing this, so that you don\'t get any more in the process of running down the existing tasks.

Both computers should have BOINC v.5 or both should have v.6 because the folders and files are organised differently in v.5 and v.6. So if necessary you would upgrade BOINC on one of the computers to bring both BOINC versions into line, and you\'d do this before starting the transfer job.

Both PCs are running v.6, so I will wait for the new box to finish it current work, then transfer over the work from the old PC.

Thanks,
