why is my graphics looking like this?

thext is garbage, and the earth looks funny

I have the latest quadro 500/600 drivers..dirextx 9.0c latest

I thought i overclocked it too much.. but that wasn\'t the issue...

Looks like you just started the project, so it couldn\'t be the end of phase bug that used to be a problem. I\'ve seen similar problems with the globe display with Matrox and S3 graphics drivers, but never nvidia.

Perhaps follow the link in this post and try the GLView test to see if it passes.

Something happened to your computer at about the time you started getting these runtime errors. What was it? Software updates?
And copying the error and pasteing it here may help to diagnose the problem.
(Unless it\'s a FORTRAN error, in which case it\'s \"something to do with your computer, and we\'ve never been able to work out what causes it\".)

Also, the last time that you ran models in 2007, a different type of graphcs was being used. All of the current models are now using graphics that are compatible with the BOINC version 6 standard, and you need to use a version 6 of BOINC to be able to see them, although SOME computers will display the graphics SOME of the time on a computer running BOINC version 5.*

yea, it did kinda get more rendered as the project was more and more complete, but the issue wasn't resolved until like 2 versions / updates later.like garbage text.. And now the work units seem to display completely differently then before. somewhat good, but i liked having control of what i was seeing.. and the ability to single out certain variables..i haven't run the project at 100% cpu to watch it recently..

Now i'd like to be able to go back to submitted results, or archived and final results of all compiled workloads from the community, for a given year. or project session. And be able to view it in 3d like we see during the gfx display on our boinc clients..or better, demonstrate what was solved, or interesting findings or anomalies.. it'd be nice to see a viewable "final" or what we have so far.. result of all the hours we've spent computing and devoting our electrical bills to these projects.. for some, even if we haven't donated directly yet..we are investing in these projects.. any way of giving back or shareing what we've accomplished...would be awesome.

Look at the very bottom of the page for any completed model, and you'll see a link. This takes you to the Results Data Portal for that model.

This Data Portal is where links to the data for all results are made available to climate physicists around the world, for whatever research they're doing.

While you're welcome to login there and look at everything, you'll need to know a bit about climate modelling for it to make sense, and have access to programs for displaying/analysing the data if you want to use it.

The "different" graphics are those developed by Sony especially for the FAMOUS models, as part of the global Millennium project.
All other model types still use the cpdn graphics, developed by Tolu.

Pazsion, if you're viewing the graphics of a HadSM or HadAM3P regional model you can press H on the keyboard to see a list of all the viewing options available for the model you're processing at the moment. In the case of the FAMOUS graphics you can click on ? at the bottom left of the window to see a list of various viewing opttions.

There isn't a place where we can see graphs or maps of the all results of all our models because different batches of different model types have been crunched for different groups of researchers carrying out different experiments/research projects. We have crunched models for a lot of different experiments. You can read about many of the experiments here on the CPDN website:

The researchers aren't really trying to find out what the exact temperature rise will be be in a particular place in a particular year, because our models always produce a range of possibilities depending on the model input variables. Generally it's a question of working out the likelihood of various changes.

Pazsion, I clicked on your name here to the left to see details of your computer and what model type you're running. I get the impression that a number of your models have crashed or haven't run properly. This is nothing to do with the graphics so it would be better to discuss the matter in a different forum section. If you want us to help sort out any problems with the model processing I suggest you go to the Number Crunching section of the forum, start a new thread, call it something like Models don't complete and in your post just ask what you need to do so that the models finish. People will then suggest ideas.
