Hi,

Can someone explain me why there is a daily quota? I would expect that my computer (Intel Quad) can get as much work as he can crunch per day....

Thanks a lot

The shortest models here will take just under 2 weeks to complete, on the fastest computer, running 24/7, with nothing else competing.
So you only need one model per cpu core for some time.

And the quota is to stop people from downloading a model, crashing it immediately, getting another, crashing it immediately, etc. Some people have managed to do this to thousands of models, for various reasons, all apparently without realising it.

Ruffieux, your quad is allowed 4 models each day, 1 per core. The problem is that although this quad looks perfect for crunching, all its models are crashing immediately without processing anything. You\'ve tried every type of model without success. Could someone please look at the error messages (I don\'t know what they mean).

execl(/home/ruffieux/Desktop/BOINC/projects/climateprediction.net/hadcm3trans_um_6.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu, 170230) failed!
CPDN process is not running, exiting, bRetVal = 1, checkPID=0, selfPID=6811, iMonCtr=1
Model crash detected, will try to restart...

The execl() error suggests that the controller process has failed to start the worker process. Check that the file hadcm3trans_um_6.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu exists and is executable.
