I recently finished three models of various types:
hadsm3mh_kl47_006000145
hadcm3istd_11n1_1920_160_05994120
hadam3h_c_70s31_2000_2000_5

Just out of curiosity, I calculated the radio of credits over CPU time (for my particular machine). I found a big advantage with the SM3MH models. A HadAM3 model took about the same time as an HadSM3MH model but I got double credit for the SM3 one.

Anyone else getting a really good credit ratio on the new HADSM3MH models? My CPU is Intel Core2 Duo. How much of a difference could that be making?

Hi
Yes also on a Core2 duo I find the same.
The Hadam trickles bang on every 3 hours =24 points an hour
The Hadsm3mh about every 3.5 hours =26.5 points an hour
Not exactly milky way or FreeHal stuff :) but a nice little bonus.
especially when Compared to work done on WCG =14.5 an hour.
That credit system though is based on benchmarks by someone with very short arms and deep pockets who also may have had a hand in designing the ducks backside.But great science. :)
Chris.

On my AMD X2 dual-core machine HadAM3 seems to be a very poor performer.

hadSM3 = 24.5 credit/hour
hadSM3mh = 25.0
hadAM3 = 18.5
hadCM3 = 22.7

hadam3 is a hi-res model, and takes longer at certain times, as it calculates the hi-res part.
It may be more realistic to work out the credits per day, instead of per hour.

I calculated those credit/hour ratios from completed models, ie. total time taken divided by total credit granted.
