I think that if you complete a project a lot earlier than the deadline then you should get extra points as this would make a greater incentive to complete tasks quicker and add a positive note to either late - no points or in time - points.

The problem with that thinking, is that this project doesn\'t have any deadline.
The \"deadline\" figure given for the various models is just to keep the BOINC server software happy.

And, if you DO complete models quickly, then you DO get more credits per unit of time.
