The trickle-up worked fine but BOINC will not upload the ten year file.

Sorry, stupid firewall ;-)

But strangely the file uploaded very quickly. More messages:

Hi Moon Rock, welcome to the forum.

You were very sharp to notice that abnormally quick file upload and it\'s a good thing you did. I\'ve looked at the model\'s graphs on its web page. They aren\'t normal for the first few years. I selected different graphs from the drop-down menu and none I looked at seemed normal. The graphs have improved after the first crazy five years, but the quick decadal upload suggests to me that the file was probably smaller than it should be.

Your model may not be processing all the data. If you complete it, it will probably be rejected by quality control. Abort it and get another. You\'ll keep your credits for all the work you\'ve done on this model. Remember that in your CPDN preferences in your account you can choose the type of model you want to run next.

Before you abort this model could you please look at its graphics and tell us whether you see the normal range of colours or the globe is all one colour.

I\'ll now look at how the other models in the same workunit are progressing.

Edit: The other models in that workunit are doing fine so far.
Moon Rock, I\'ve looked at your previous model that crashed and its graphs weren\'t normal either:

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?field=gm_pr&resultid=7897303&phase=1

The other models in this previous workunit all produced normal graphs from the beginning.

Moon Rock, is there anything on your computer that could be causing it to run slightly unstably? Does it ever restart itself or turn itself off? Is it overclocked to speed it up? Any of its settings altered for any reason?

The graphic is showing the normal range of colours across the globe.

I don\'t think there is any reason to think it is unstable. It rarely crashes and is not overclocked. The CPU temperature is currently 47 degrees C as reported by aida32.

Thanks for investigating, mo.v

That\'s a good temperature, enviable even. A small proportion of models do turn out to be flawed. In such cases they usually misbehave or crash on all the computers running them, or on all the computers with a particular OS. However, there have been previous cases where a model from a workunit has become abnormal on one computer only, while continuing normally on the other computers.

We\'ve seen abnormal graphs similar to the ones for your two models before.

The same thing happening to two models in short succession could be an unlucky coincidence. If I were you, every two or three days I\'d keep an eye on the graphics and graphs of future models. If most develop normally then you have nothing to worry about. If more models produce bizarre results you\'d need to think about investigating the computer\'s stability.

If you\'re running the screensaver you could disable it. You\'d still be able to view the model\'s graphics using the button in BOINC manager.
