Hi

I have four cores running on my Q6600 m/c and two of them are nearly finished (96%+)

In Boinc Manager, I have allowed CPDN to grab new work, but I get this message, despite my Preferences allowing plenty of disk space for Boinc Projects:-

24/08/2008 07:02:50|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 587236 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks

Why is this? I\'ve allowed 10Gb disk space: I have 2Gb RAM, and all is running fine I feel - it just can\'t get hold of another WU.

Well, I\'ve bumped up my \"local Preferences\" disk space, and I now have two WUs come through.

Why are there two settings for disk space? One asks for, \"Use at most xx Gb\" and the other asks for \"Use at most xx %\" disk space - which takes precedent?

If I have an 80Gb partition with Boinc on, and I set the first to be \"Use at most 10Gb space\", but the second is \"use no more than 5%\" for example, will I get 10Gb used, or will I be limited to 5% of 80Gb = 4Gb???

This might start to expain things:

\"Note that \'Use at most\' includes both Boinc and non-Boinc use of disk space. So if you are using 100GB of non-boinc space, and 5GB of Boinc, you need to have \'Use at most\' set to over 105GB.\"

Both need to be OK before Boinc will attempt to download a new workunit, i.e., it checks both the percentage and the total space used figure. Note also Martin\'s comment above. I find that the disk space options can be quite confusing, so I set them to their most extreme values so that they are ignored.
