Message 33525 - Posted: 22 Apr 2008, 21:04:25 UTC

I\'ve just started running climate prediction models again, after a gap of over a year, and on a new PC. The message \"Your computer has 1022.42 MB of memory, and a job requires 1464.84 MB\" appears every day or so. This message doesn\'t make much sense, because this PC has several GB of spare memory. Also, the models still seem to run, but without any fancy graphics.

Can anybody please tell me what I need to do to make the message go away, and to get back the fancy graphics that I used to get over a year ago. Many thanks.

If you look at the climateprediction preferences on your account page, you\'ll see that there are now 4 types of model available. (2 types in the HADCMs, at random.)
One of the models is high-res, and that\'s what gives you the messages, even if you select one of the other types. (It\'s an all or nothing thing with the message.)

The only way to stop the messages is to allow BOINC to use more than 1.5 Gigs, in the General prefs, at all times.

Fancy graphics? Do you mean on the screen saver?
They should be available to see via the Show graphics button in the Tasks tab.
