I am running BOINC 5.10.45 on a Mac OS X.5.2. climateprediction is running as a screensaver and shows up as a spinning globe with cloud cover. Along the left-hand column is text that says \"hold down the control key and press the key to change the view of the screen saver.\"

I am unable to press any key without the screen saver quitting. Whether I press the command key or the control key, the screen saver disappears. The next time it appears, it is still the globe with clouds.

How can I change the view?

Any help appreciated.

That\'s a left over note from a year back.
Modern versions of BOINC don\'t recognise the control key.

If you want a different view, you need to use the Show graphics button in the Tasks tab of the manager. (gui)
It\'s also recommended, (at least for this project), that the screen saver NOT be used, as it takes up a lot of cpu time to constantly create the image.

It generally takes me hours of banging my head against the wall to find the answers to \"little\" problems like this one, even if I have found them for myself a half dozen times. I also thank you for the solution.

Spem reduxit.

Hi Brant Goose

The CPDN project READMEs are more detailed than the website FAQs. Get to the READMEs through Les\'s signature link or mine. There are lots of useful tips in the README collection called \'Running the model\'. In the collection about crashes and problems I particularly recommend item #6 by MikeMars. And in the collection about backups, it\'s a good idea for everyone to select a backup method and back up the contents of the boinc folder regularly (because restoring a backup is the only way to continue a crashed model).

Hope that helps.
