I have received a task which has already used 100 hours of my cpu time but the progress is only about 1%! It even has a deadline at year 2010!
Is it usual for you to send such a large task to your nodes?

Yes - there are currently three different types of model which can be sent to your machine (a 4th is being tested). Your model sounds like a \'coupled\' model (the HadCM3), which is the biggest.

There are a couple of very useful posts, one by Crandles and another by Mo.V at the start of the \'information\' section in the \'running the models\' readme, these are well worth a read. You can find the readme via my signature.

I\'d also recommend taking a look at the \'backups\' readme - with such big tasks, it is always more satisfying if you can complete the model yourself rather than just a part of it :-)

Hi GDI, welcome to the forum.

I can see from your project web pages that you\'ve had a small number of previous models that crashed, all with exit code 1. This could be caused by you turning off the computer without suspending the model and exiting from Boinc first (right-click on the BOINC icon bottom right of screen, then select Exit). There\'s more useful advice about how to keep a model running successfully in the README about crashes and problems. Look there for link #6 by Mike who posted above.

If you run the model screensaver I\'d advise you to disable it; this will help the model to process faster.
