During 2007 and 2008 Richard Cree, Stephen Doughty and Glenn Morris will undertake the first UK kayak journey through the Arctic Ocean via Canada\'s fabled North West Passage, a journey of over 3,000 miles. Their objective - to bring the voices of the Inuit back to the UK telling their stories of a changing world and how they view their future.

The expedition website is here.

For anyone who lives in the vicinity of Sevenoaks there\'s an opportunity to meet expedition leader Glenn Morris FRGS at Aisher Hall, Sevenoaks School on Friday 11 May 2007 from 18:45 to 22:00.

Join local Polar Explorer Glenn, as he gives a fascinating account of his travels in one of the world\'s most fragile environments.

The evening includes a presentation by Tonbridge Grammar School on a unique schools twinning project with the Arctic involving Kent schools.

Refreshments will be served (courtesy of Waitrose), and there will be an exhibition of the schools\' work on display, as well as the kayak and other equipment the team will be using.

Tickets are £5 each (including refreshments) and available from Sevenoaks Bookshop, The Studio in Otford, or Sevenoaks Chronicle Newspaper Office.

Alternatively contact piprose7@aol.com or ring 01959 525188 to buy tickets.
