Would it be possible to issue bonus credits for 100% completed work units? I figure it would only be worth doing for large work units (80 years or more).

Work done here is supposed to equate to work done on other Projects as closely as possible. If bonuses are awarded, it makes a problem. If some credits are withheld and only awarded if the Model completes, it creates a different problem...

CPDN can\'t do anything that would make us unpopular with other projects, or that other projects would consider an unfair advantage. There are stats freaks who compare the credits for different projects and post about it. Carl (in Oxford) did once mention your bonus idea, so this has been considered and, I\'m afraid, rejected.

When members complete a model, if they report their success in the Milestones thread in the cafe, they\'ll find that they soon receive the reward of (virtual) champagne and fireworks. Because everyone here understands the effort involved.

It has been two years since previous post. Has any thought been given to perhaps granting bonus credits for completed climate models? This would encourage the "stats freaks" to crunch tasks to completion and would seemingly benefit the science as well. A modest 5 or 10k would probably accomplish this, and shouldn't be out of line when compared to the long run times involved.

The only people giving it thought are those that think it would be a quick way to boost their credit rating.
It's not going to happen.

Don't agree that it would be a "quick" way to boost credit (at least not on my boxes) but respect your stance on this issue. Thanks for your quick response.
