Hello Everyone,

Am I right in thinking that the project runs in the background all the time ? Is there no way that I could speed it up by using the full potential of my PC ? I have been leaving my PC on at night with the sole intention of helping the project, this means there are at least 10 hours each day where the project could be running at greater speed.

Many thanks everyone keep up the good work.

Hi Badger

First off, I\'ve deleted your original post because you included your email address.
Posting this on the net is just the sort of thing that spammers are looking for.

Next, to reply to your post:
The only way to use the full potential of your computer for the modelling, is to not use the computer your self.
The two parts of the program weren\'t thrown together over a few days; BOINC has been in development, and issued for use with various improvements, since 2003, and the climate program was developed over several decades by the UK Met Office, who run it on their supercomputers for both weather and climate modelling.

These programs not only run in the background on desktop computers, BOINC uses all of the available spare processor clock cycles to run the science program.
It\'s all been carefully worked out so as to make the most of people\'s computers.

If you want some hints, tips, and suggestions for getting the best out of the program, and to safeguard it against accidents, then have a look through the 4 README files here.
